Seco de carne de res (also called "beef stew") is a typical Peruvian dish and one of the most popular dishes in Peruvian homes. Its preparation style is similar to Seco de cabrito, but the latter is only cooked for special days such as birthdays, social events and Peruvian customs.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of beef in pieces.
  • 1 kg of peeled potatoes.
  • Peeled peas.
  • Large onion.
  • 1 tomato.
  • Vegetable oil.

Recipe procedure.

  1. Cut the onion and tomato into small squares.
  2. Make a dressing, adding the salt, pepper, and garlic, then pour the tomato and onion (it has to be chopped), finally add, the beef and fry everything.
  3. On the other side grind the cilantro and add to the pot when everything is cooked. Add the peas until they are cooked and finally add the boiled potato.
  4. Serve with white rice.
