The split pea, or also called: green stew, is a rich and energetic food consumed by many people, it is also characterized by accompanying many of our meals. Its consumption is recommended both medically and in the positive experiences of people, and it is always part of our balanced diet. Its consumption is allowed from the youngest, to the elderly; since its nutritional properties are essential pillars, which help to develop and maintain our body, this menestra will be a good companion in our meals! Preparation of green menestra prepared at home and accompanied by white rice.

Ingredients:

  • ½ kg of split peas (can be canned or picked).
  • 1 tablespoon of freshly ground garlic.
  • Salt to taste.

Recipe procedure.

  1. In a medium saucepan, add water up to half, and carefully add the grains of split peas.
  2. Stir with a spoon, and season with salt to taste (depending on each person this may be optional), and add a tablespoon of freshly ground garlic.
  3. Once ready and seasoned; start cooking over normal heat and turn off when it is ready (observe that it is well cooked and that the stew has a suitable texture).
  4. During the cooking of this stew; you should observe that the preparation does not lack water, and if it lacks water, add a little at a time.
  5. To serve in all the meals that we wish and to taste in family.
  6. This stew, once prepared, can be served with almost any meal we prepare!

Note: So that our cooking does not take too long to be done; cover the pot with its respective lid, and leave an opening so that the smoke comes out, and the foam that is produced does not expand on top. Remember to use the necessary amount to cook the stew.
