Mejillones o Choros a la chalca (Recipe prepared with mussels)

Today we have a recipe to prepare our meals based on fish and shellfish; Today’s preparation has to do directly with a very special and nutritious seafood; it is the “mussels” or popularly known as: “choros”. In this recipe we will prepare a meal with this seafood and we will get a preparation to taste with all the family and friends. Let’s see how to prepare it!

Ingredients for this recipe.

  • 2 dozen “Choros” (mussels).
  • 2 onions cut into squares.
  • ½ Rocoto without seeds, or veins and cut into dice.
  • 6 lemons
  • 1 tablespoon ground yellow ají.
  • 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil.
  • 1 Choclo parboiled and shelled.
  • Parsley chopped to taste.
  • Salt.
  • Pepper.

Procedure of the recipe.

  1. Clean the “Choros” by rubbing the valves with a brush under the spout. And place them in a pot with a liter of boiling water and a teaspoon of salt.
  2. When the mussels are cooked, remove those mussels (mussels) that have not been opened and undone.
  3. Get the vulva of each choro and place them on a separate source.
  4. Mix in a bowl the onion, the “Rocoto”, the husked corn, juice of four lemons, the yellow pepper, vegetable oil, salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Add the “Choros” and mix; place them on the valves arranged in the source and squeeze the rest of the lemons on serving.

Note. Wash each mussel very well with water and choose those that are healthy and in good condition.
