The tropical juice is a refreshing drink prepared in a natural way, and based on two essential fruits, such as the carambola, and the banana; where each one is liquefied separately and mixed, to form a single drink. This is sweetened with sugar, and is recommended in summer or hot weather, is accompanied by ice, and is served in all the situations we wish. The specification of its name comes from the preparation itself, since it uses tropical fruits of pleasant taste, and these are mixed together. Its flavor is unforgettable!

Ingredients:

  • 8 fresh, and medium sized carambolas.
  • 5 fresh and sliced plantains.
  • 500 g of white or blonde sugar.
  • 50 ml of honey (this is optional).


Recipe procedure.

  1. Cut the leftovers of each carambola, and leave only the pulp. Do the same with the plantain, and let it rest on a bowl.
  2. In a blender, add the cut pieces of the carambola and add sugar to taste.
  3. Then add water (or ice cubes) up to half of what is going to be blended. Blend until a uniform grind is achieved.
  4. Separate the shake from the carambola to one side; and then do the same procedure, but this time with the banana pieces.
  5. Once both shakes are ready, pour half of each into a glass and enjoy.
  6. Consume with ice mainly in summer, or in hot weather.

Note: It is advisable to drink it very sweet, and to taste it with ice cubes. If possible, reduce the sugar content and add honey.
