The meat empanada is a meal prepared with flour and milk; these ingredients are kneaded until a dough similar to bread is obtained, and inside this dough, meat dressing and other ingredients are added: olive, egg or simply minced meat. The preparation is easy, and requires a few minutes to prepare. Finally, it is cooked inside an oven, and after being cooked it is served and accompanied by some special juice.

Let's see how to prepare it!

Empanada de carne (Peruvian recipes)

Ingredients:

  • 360 grams of flour.
  • Half a stick of butter.
  • 250 ml of milk.
  • ¼ kg of beef or ground beef.
  • 2 medium onions, cut in squares.
  • 1 cooked egg.
  • 1 pickled chili bell pepper, cut in small pieces.
  • Small olives.
  • Aji-no-moto.

Recipe procedure:

  1. On a bowl, add the flour and the egg, and then make a mixture, until you get a dough similar to bread, and if it is hard, you should add milk or water, so that the dough takes consistency, and is at its point.
  2. The dough should be concise and uniform.
  3. To make the dressing, heat a frying pan with oil, then add the garlic, aji amarillo, aji panca and season with onion. Once these begin to brown, we add the chopped pickled chili and the minced meat. When these are well cooked, turn off the stove and set aside.
  4. To cook the "empanadas", shape the dough to incorporate the dressing inside each "empanada".
  5. Once each "empanada" is ready, and with its "dressing", place it on a baking dish inside the oven. And paint each "empanada" with "egg yolk", to achieve a nice color (as in the photo).
  6. Leave in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes; and observe when it is well yellow.
  7. Accompany it on any occasion, with a fruit juice.

Note: If you have not purchased milk, you can replace it with a liter of water (this must be previously boiled). Also, do not forget that you can add raisins to your empanadas.
