Oatmeal with milk is a delicious and nutritious breakfast that we can prepare and take in the lunch box. It is accompanied by bread and other foods such as cheese, jam or fried egg. In addition, it is a breakfast that we can easily prepare, since the ingredients are easy to find at home, or near us. To prepare it, it is enough to choose an oatmeal that can be packaged, or chosen in grain form, as well as other small foods such as: cinnamon, apple, pineapple pieces and quince, which will help to obtain a rich preparation.

Avena con leche (Peruvian recipes).

Ingredients:

  • 500 g of packaged oatmeal.
  • 250 ml of packaged or loose milk.
  • A piece of quince cut in any shape.
  • A piece of pineapple, or a pineapple peel (fresh and healthy).
  • A juice apple cut in half.
  • 1 liter of water previously boiled.
  • Cinnamon in slices.
  • Sugar to taste.

Recipe procedure.

  1. On a cup, add water up to half, and fill the remaining amount with the oat grains you have purchased (if the oatmeal is packaged, the cooking will be easier). In this type of preparation, packaged oatmeal is used.
  2. We move it with a spoon, and dissolve it. So that we use this amount for our future preparation.
  3. Now, on a medium and clean pot; we add water up to half, and we let it boil. But we add the cinnamon, the quince, the apple, and the piece of pineapple.
  4. Let it boil until these foods soften; and then add the "cup of oatmeal" that we have dissolved during procedure 1 (the time to leave will be of 5 minutes approximately).
  5. After this, we let it boil at normal temperature. The texture of our oatmeal should be very spicy, and not too loose. So that we can use a little more water when it is ready.
  6. Stir constantly, and let it cook over low heat. Turn it off when it has given between one, and two boils; and at that precise time, add the milk to give it a different flavor (add the milk all around the oatmeal and the pot), mix, and turn it off.
  7. If our oatmeal is too hot, choose to cool it, and serve it when it is at the right temperature. With this beautiful action you can now serve it over cups, and accompany it with bread (the breads can be accompanied by some special ingredient, such as: meat, sausage, fried egg, avocado...etc.).

Note: If the amount of oatmeal was not enough to serve, try to use water to dissolve more oatmeal, and get more liquid. This way, you will get more oatmeal, but without losing the quality of the oatmeal.
