A great homemade meal.

Rice with chicken is a typical Peruvian meal, prepared with chicken prey, accompanied with rice, peas and onion salad. Its preparation consists of introducing each ingredient, and then cooking it in a permanent way, to obtain a good flavor. This dish is a favorite of many people, because besides being delicious and easy to prepare.

Arroz con pollo (Peruvian recipes)

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams of fresh spinach, and in good condition.
  • 150 grams of peeled and fresh peas.
  • One bell pepper cut into long, thin strips.
  • 1000 grams of previously washed rice.
  • One medium onion, cut into small cubes.
  • 6 medium sized chicken prey.
  • 118.34 grams of chopped coriander.
  • 473.18 ml of vegetable oil.
  • 3-4 tablespoons of yellow chili bell pepper.
  • 1 teaspoon pepper.
  • 1 tablespoon salt or to taste.

Recipe procedure.

  1. Cut the chicken meat into pieces; then, in a bowl, add half a tablespoon of salt, a pinch of pepper, and Umami seasoning (this will serve to enhance the flavor).
  2. Let it macerate for 10-15 minutes, so our chicken will have a good flavor.
  3. Then we fry the chicken in a frying pan with oil. After 20 seconds, we take out the chicken and keep it in a separate container.
  4. We prepare a basic dressing, where we add: a minimum amount of vegetable oil, the onion chopped in squares, and 3 spoonfuls of yellow chili bell pepper.
  5. Let it fry for a moment, then add the ground coriander, the spinach, and the chicken cut into pieces. So that it can be cooked during the boiling process (for this you have to add 2 cups of water).
  6. Once boiled; we check the cooking of the meat, and we remove it from the cooking, to add two cups of rice, the peas, the chopped carrot, and a pinch of black beer (remember that this is optional).
  7. We add one more cup of water, because the boiling has consumed the water.
  8. Leave until the rice grains, and put on low heat. To finish, check if it is ready and turn it off.
  9. Serve with a natural fruit soda, and accompany it with the loved ones you love the most.

Note: The meat can be cooked directly from the frying with oil, but in this recipe, it is made in two types of preparations. The first, in the frying, and two in the cooking before the rice; however, you can do it directly by frying without adding more steps. Remember that in procedure seven, one more cup of water is added, since the boiling decreases the water.
