In Peru, there are two versions or types of bananas; the first is the silk
banana (Plátano de Seda), and the second is the island banana (Plátano de
Isla). This last one is used to make fried bananas which makes up the food
called “Arrroz a la cubana”. Both bananas can be eaten naturally, although
the first one is more delicious, and eye-catching.
