Wheat rice is a meal prepared with wheat and a basic dressing. Its ingredients can be found in a local market, and its cooking is quick to make. In this recipe, we are going to leave the procedure of Peruvian wheat rice, and that most people in Peru usually prepare. Ingredients for the wheat rice

  • ½ kg of wheat.
  • ½ kg of green peas with skin.
  • 1 teaspoon of onion chopped in small pieces.
  • 1 medium carrot.
  • 1 tablespoon of dried red bell pepper.
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
  • 1 tablespoon of ground garlic.
  • ½ kg of potato Indian egg.

Procedure of the recipe.

Preparing the wheat.

  1.  Prepare a basic dressing, adding the following ingredients: the dried red chili bell pepper, the chopped onion, the ground garlic, the vegetable oil and the carrot chopped in small pieces. Brown until browned.
  2.  Add ½ liter of water (depending on the amount of wheat to be prepared), and bring to a boil.
  3.  Add the acquired wheat, but using a strainer to counteract the elements that are not part of the wheat (for example, small stones or sand). Use water for this.
  4. Let it cook as if it were a normal white rice.
  5. Once the wheat rice is ready, serve.

Preparing the potato dressing.

  1.  Cut the potatoes into small squares, and add the dried red chili, ground garlic, vegetable oil, and salt to taste. Add a pinch of water so that the stew does not dry out.
  2. Cook until the potatoes are well cooked.
  3.  Once cooked, serve with wheat rice and an onion salad.
  4. Meat to accompany the wheat rice.
